Cambridge ESOL open Sixth National Public Tests Forum in China

The event, held between 20–23 November, was hosted by the Beijing Education Examinations Authority (BEEA). It was attended by a number of key examination authorities including National Education Examinations Authority (NEEA), the Chongqing Education Examinations Authority (CHEEA) and the The China Association for Employment Promotion (CAEP).
Cambridge ESOL spoke at the opening ceremony and presented a plenary on the theme of collaboration. Dr. Hanan Khalifa, Assistant Director for Research and Validation at Cambridge ESOL, spoke about how organisations can work together when setting and monitoring standards for language assessment. This session covered the formation of the Association of Language Testers in Europe (ALTE) and looked at its main aims and outputs to date. It also covered how the establishment of common professional standards for language testing has been collaborative success in delivering a code of practice and a quality management system.
