EF and Cambridge ESOL unveil global collaboration

EF Education First (EF) and University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations (Cambridge ESOL) have announced a ground-breaking collaboration on a global scale. EF, the world’s largest language training organization, and Cambridge ESOL, providers of the world’s leading range of English language qualifications, are planning several initiatives aimed at fundamentally improving the way that students learn English.
Details of the projects are still being finalized, but Cambridge ESOL is already working on the EF Cambridge English Level Test (EFCELT). This test is designed to show students at all levels in EF schools throughout the world the level they have achieved at the end of their course, in line with internationally recognised levels. In addition, EF will recommend Cambridge ESOL exams to students in its schools and has announced that it intends to establish a network of EF schools as Cambridge exam centres to deliver Cambridge Main Suite and BULATS exams. EF will also encourage all of their teachers to gain Cambridge ESOL professional qualifications for language teachers.

EF President Philip Hult has also announced, “In addition to these global initiatives, EF is working with University of Cambridge’s Research Centre for English and Applied Linguistics to establish a research unit dedicated to exploring, improving, and accelerating the language learning experience.”
