English teachers get online community
11 December
Teachers of English as a second language can now access free lesson plans, worksheets and other classroom resources thanks to a new web-based community launched by Cambridge ESOL. The recently launched Cambridge ESOL Teacher Support website provides an online platform for all teachers preparing students for English exams set by Cambridge ESOL.
Features include an interactive resources area containing lesson plans, an advice section offering tips and strategies for every Cambridge ESOL exam, discussion forums and a searchable events section. Cambridge ESOL exams are taken in 130 countries which makes this an ideal way to reach their global teaching community.
“Our English exams are taken all over the world so our teaching community is made up of a diverse mix of people. Supporting the teachers who prepare candidates for our exams is very important to us,” explains Sharon Harvey, Cambridge ESOL’s Assistant Director for Support Products and Services. She continues: “This new online community allows teachers from many countries to interact and share resources and experiences with each other, which can only benefit them and their students in the long run.”
Each year teachers play an important part in preparing the three million students who take Cambridge ESOL examinations to help them increase their global mobility and career prospects. This new initiative is part of Cambridge ESOL’s wider aim to offer more than just language qualifications. The organisation has recently launched of a number of other support products including Speaking Test Preparation Packs for teachers and the Top Tips revision guides for candidates.
