Cambridge announce new titles in their “Top Tips” series for learners of English
20 April 2009
Candidates preparing for Preliminary English Test (PET) and Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) to benefit from new revision guides.
Students preparing for English examinations this summer can now take advantage of two new revision guides from Cambridge ESOL. April sees the launch of Top Tips for PET and Top Tips for CAE following significant customer demand. Building on the success of last year’s Top Tips for FCE, the new books have been developed to offer candidates advice and tips for each part of the exams in an easy to use format. All titles in the series are written by Cambridge ESOL examiners with many years’ experience of setting and marking PET, FCE and CAE.
Sharon Harvey, Assistant Director, Support Products and Services explains the reasons behind expanding the series:
“As part of our commitment to learners of English, last year we successfully launched the first Top Tips revision guide to help candidates prepare for their First Certificate in English exam. Due to the positive feedback we have received from candidates, coupled with sales which have exceeded expectations, we have developed the series further to include revision guides for the Preliminary English Test and Certificate in Advanced English. We have used the same winning formula and approach to ensure the new guides will be well-received and a real benefit to candidates”.
The titles in the Top Tips series allow students to work through the book and then practise what they have learned by trying a complete exam on the accompanying CD-ROM. Students can then check their answers at the end of the exam and watch video footage of students taking the Speaking test. The CD-ROM included with Top Tips for PET is interactive and introduces students to the look and feel of the computer-based PET exam.
