Students specialising in international law can now use an English test set by the University of Cambridge to gain entry onto a top Masters programme.

Those applying to The American University Washington College of Law to take their International Legal Studies Program can now prove their English language ability with Cambridge ESOL’s International Legal English Certificate (ILEC). ILEC is a high-level language qualification specially designed for lawyers. It assesses English language ability in a legal setting to internationally recognised standards which makes it ideal for this culturally diverse course.

The International Legal Studies Program was established in 1980 and is aimed at the growing number of lawyers training in international law. Each year over 142 students from 53 countries take the course which incorporates international law courses, seminars, experiential learning, and special events.
